About the Initiative
This initiative in the field of Big Data Analytics is aimed to be cross disciplinary covering fields of business, statistics, transportation, geography, urban planning, social networks and the environment amongst others. Additional aims include (1) developing connections between industry and academia; (2) funding Ph.D students; and (3) organizing a seminar series. The events are expected to be organized on a monthly basis and will include academic and industry presentations around a specific topic. Subjects will include the theory of machine learning, deep learning, visualization and optimization in conjunction with applications in a specific field such as health, transport or even anthropology.
